Time for L&L (Lounging and Laundry)

We woke up Tuesday, August 15 to this beautiful view right outside our window. This is the East Glacier Park train stop for the Amtrak "Empire Builder" line. This is a very busy track for both commercial/ freight and passenger trains, but the trains did not disturb our sleep. Our friend Kate Sheehy arrived on the Empire Builder Tuesday evening. She had left Kitchener Ontario Sunday, Aug 13, drove to Detroit, flew to Minneapolis, and then took the train to East Glacier (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles). We had left Philly Saturday 8-5-17, and wended our way up the Missouri like Lewis & Clark, and both met up here!
After spending 10 days on the road, it was time for some L&L (Lounging and Laundry). While at the laundry, I met a man who had worked at Glacier Park Lodge 37 years ago. He was here to reunite with other Glacier Park Lodge workers from 1980-81. Since I had worked at Many Glacier Hotel in 1984, we swapped a few stories and memories of those summers. He was a night watchman and I was a chambermaid (I was given that assignment because as a nurse, I "knew how to make beds.") This sign is courtesy of someone in our Motel 6 (north) in Billings, who taped it to the door instead of using the tag for the door handle. I thought it was very apropos.
